AT&T Digital Long Distance Service is a high speed digital data service available to residential customers subscribed to ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) service from their local phone company. The service provides basic long distance transport of digital data calls from the customer's home to homes and businesses that are subscribed to ISDN, or capable of receiving digital data calls.
With the service, customers can set up 64 kbps calls over the AT&T digital long distance network and with the appropriate terminal equipment customers can set up two simultaneous 64 kbps calls to create a 128 kbps connection. This higher speed is extremely valuable for customers who require data connectivity for applications such as telecommuting, desktop video conferencing, on-line information access, or distance learning.
