ISDN Extension Products

U-BR1TE

The U-Basic Rate Transmission Extender enables the extension of the ISDN U 2-wire interface from an ISDN-equipped PBX or switch over T carrier lines to remote locations. Using the U-BR1TE configuration, the U-interface can be deployed from the remote location serving a maximum of 18,000 feet. Extensive line tests including switch-based and local performance monitoring and loopbacks are also supported. The U-BR1TE plugs into an AT&T D4 channel bank, SLC(R) 96 (or equivalent), ADTRAN BR1TE Bank, or ACT 1241.

T-BR1TE

The T-Basic Rate Transmission Extender enables the extension of the ISDN S/T 4-wire interface from an ISDN-equipped PBX or switch over T carrier lines to remote locations. The T-BR1TE extends the range of the S/T-interface from the remote location serving a maximum of 3,000 feet, making it ideal for customer-owned networks. Although the T-BR1TE does not have the range of the U-BR1TE and uses two extra wires, it is a more economical means of offering Basic Rate ISDN. The T-BR1TE plugs into an AT&T D4 channel bank, AT&T SLC(R) 96 (or equivalent), the ADTRAN BR1TE Bank, or ADTRAN ACT 1241.

It terminates a T1 carrier and can accommodate up to eight U-BR1TEs or T-BR1TEs. The following common equipment is required: PAU, PCU, OIU-2, RU, LIU, ACU, and TU. The CAU is optional. CAU

The ADTRAN Clock Acquisition Unit is designed for use in the BR1/8 BR1TE Bank. The CAU provides a 64 kHz composite clock which acquires timing for the bank from the U- or S/T-interface. This unit is used when composite clock is not available, as in some private networks.
