Horticulture
A horticultural showpiece, the 79-acre Garden opened to the public in 1859.
With an eye to the future, founder Henry Shaw established a garden of
consequence dedicated to research, display, and public education. Information
on Plants in Bloom is now
available on the Garden gopher. A Web version, with images, is
under construction.
Research
The Missouri Botanical Garden (MBG) is a world leader in botanical research.
It works closely with local institutions in over 30 countries to collect and
classify the rapidly vanishing plant species of the world. To learn more
