The 22nd Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition
Hyatt Regency
Knoxville, Tennessee
February 21-23, 1995
The WATTec '95 theme is Information Technologies, which affect virtually every area of competitiveness. Over 2,000 attendees from the corporate, government, and academic sectors will choose from technical sessions in three theme tracks: Electronic Commerce, Health-Care Technology, and Educational Technology. Plenary and luncheon talks will be given by speakers at the cutting edge of the information economy. And especially for non-technical audiences, WATTec Workshops will feature discussions and demonstrations of computing and networking techniques.
Tennessee's own Albert Gore, Jr. is leading the way to a National Information Infrastructure (NII), and the state's industries, schools, and laboratories eagerly anticipate that high-tech future. But there's no need to wait for the NII, as WATTec '95 will bring it all home in three days of talks, demonstrations, and exhibits.
In keeping with this year's theme, WATTec '95 will feature provocative speakers and presentations of interest to everyone affected by Information Technologies. That includes business people, educators, researchers, administrators, and anyone else whose job depends on quick and efficient access to information. Among the event's organizers is Technology 2020, a new $4.5 million public/private partnership designed to use Tennessee's telecommunications infrastructure to gain competitive advan- tages for existing and new businesses.
High-speed network connections at the Knoxville Hyatt Regency will enable presenters to demonstrate cutting-edge tools for the Information Superhighway, and its precursor the Internet. In addition to the traditional Technical Sessions and Exhibits of products and services, WATTec '95 will feature nationally prominent experts for plenary, banquet, and luncheon talks on Electronic Commerce, Health-Care Technology, and Educational Technology.
Designed specially for non-technical audiences, daily Workshops will feature discussions and demonstrations of advanced uses for networked computers in each theme track. A very reasonable $20 gains admission to one workshop. Reduced fees are also available for one- or two-day conference attendance. All in all, WATTec '95 promises to be the most widely attended event since the conference's inception, so register now!
