Los Angeles Look

ArtDirect LogoFans of the arts in Los Angeles will love Art Direct's guide to local arts events in Los Angeles with galleries, museums, music and other performing arts information. Great resource for upcoming local theatre and classical music events!

Buzz Magazine is now on the Web with Buzz Online. Just in case you need real hard-hitting journalism like the "100 Coolest People Around" or local celebrity gossip. It's actually a pretty nice LA-centric site.

Club ChickHipsters and Grunge Kids check out Scott Kardon's LA Club Listings - it's really well done, and appears to be up-to-date, now if only I'd heard of any of these bands... Another way to go is to check out Pollstar's Concert Tour Information server. If you do a search for Los Angeles-area concerts, you get a Menu of Local Cities to choose from, all of which have listings of upcoming concert events, in all genres of music.

raiders helmetSports fans might be interested in knowing that the NFL has a web site, with home pages for all the teams, including The Raiders. Get a review of their draft moves, their schedule and a link to the NFL Sidelines home, a great site with fun interactive web football trivia games, fan surveys and more.

UCLA's Royce Hall UCLA Home Page (be careful with the image map, click on the icon, not the text -it's picky!) Two of the more useful features are the campus Special Events listing, arranged by type of event and if you're looking for work, the current campus job listings. Other features include a virtual tour of campus, class listings, and admissions information.

L.A. Sunset PhotoWhile it started out pretty lame, the City of Los Angeles server is actually becoming a useful resource. While you may not care about the missions and strategies of the Sanitation Department, the Fire Department's upcoming Earthquake safety program might be more useful, or you can just check out the pretty lights at the Bureau of Street Lighting's (I'm not kidding, this really exists) Gallery of Street Light images!

APLA LogoAIDS Project L.A. is online and has a great resource in Living Positive with references to upcoming events, organizations, living strategies and articles for Los Angeles' HIV+ population and their loved ones.

image of MuseumThe County Museum has come online with a great selection of art available for viewing. Exhibition schedule is current through September, although I'd worry a bit, as they appear to have not updated it since last November.
