The University of Tasmania comprises several campuses across Australia's island state
of Tasmania. It is the only University in the state, with a total enrolment of
around 12,000 students.

This World Wide Web page is maintained by the Information Technology
Services department. Other University departments make information available over the Web,

Departmental Information
The following University departments operate their own WWW servers. There is also a Departmental information
section on Gopher, and an organisational chart of the University
is available.
The following societies within the University make information available via WWW. Again, information
is also available through Gopher.
Publications
Information Technology Services has produced a booklet called the Network Users Guide for members
of the campus community, giving step-by-step instructions on how to use various network tools. This guide
is available online in both Macintosh and PC versions.

Tasmania
Tasmania is the smallest and southern-most state of Australia. A virtual Tour of Tassie exists for those
interested in seeing the sights or in learning about specific cities and towns; a more textual overview is available from the state Department of Tourism,
Sport and Recreation.
A geographic fact sheet is available, as is the weather forecast and the current time.

File Archive
Software in common use around the University is stored in the publicly accessible file archive,
and can be accessed either through the Web or through FTP clients such as WinSock FTP or Fetch.
Software not on the University of Tasmania's FTP site can be searched for using archie.
