Cryptography, PGP, and Your Privacy

Cryptography is the study of encryption, the transformation of data into a form unreadable by anyone without a secret decryption key.

PGP is Pretty Good Privacy, a program created by Phil Zimmermann. It's a widely-used tool for performing public key encryption and managing the associated keys. PGP is available for a wide variety of computer systems (see Where to Get PGP).
