Finding People on the Internet

Here are some tools to assist you in finding an individual through the Internet. There is no one best way. If one tool doesn't work, try another.

Netfind: Search for a user's E-mail address.
Finger: Identify a user from an E-mail address.
Phonebooks: Search Organizational Directories
X.500: Search an Experimental Directory System
Whois: Look up information on an institution from its domain-name (the last 2 parts of the email address). example: nova.edu
