EARTH RESOURCES MGMT. & GEOSCIENCES CATEGORY
The title of theis scene is "The City of Guelph from a Bird's
eyes". The scene is created using GEOREF GIS software by Minglin Li
of GEOREF Systems Ltd. The digital aerial imagery is collected
using the MEIS (Multispectral Electro-optical Imaging Sensor) camera
which was originally developed by the Canadian Center for Remote
Sensing (CCRS). The imagery was corrected to the geodetic control
points on the ground and then wrapped onto the digital evaluation
model (DEM).
The entire process was done on an SGI R4000 Indigo XS24 workstation.
The GEOREF GeoIMAGE software was used to perform the geometric
and radiometric correction. The corrected image was then mapped
onto an exaggerated DEM in the 3D rendering tool GoeTIN
(another GEOREF product). The final touch of the sky was done using
SGI Showcase software.
