Open Inventor Games

The Inventor team has written several games using Open Inventor. The games took anywhere from a couple of person-days (for the maze game) and 12 person-weeks (2 people working 6 weeks for slotcar) to implement. These games require IRIX 5.2 and a machine that supports OpenGL (everything except for VGX(T)/GT(X)/PI).

If you are a developer in the U.S., please call (800) 800-7441, and ask for Department D170. You will receive a free copy of the Open Inventor Games CD. The CD contains full source code for all of the games plus some other neat stuff.

If you are not a developer, executables for most of the games on the Games CD are available through this link. Developers: if you decide you can't wait for the CD to be mailed to you and get the games this way, we still encourage you to call the 800 number to get the full CD.
