Cybernet's PER-Force(tm) handcontroller (6 axes) and joystick (3 axis) are virtual reality input devices providing high resolution tactile feedback to the operator's hand. These simulate a "sense of touch" by "force reflection" providing an additional sense of realism to synthetic/virtual environments. The NASA-developed hardware comes bundled with force feedback software which Silicon Graphics Workstations access through a "black box" interface. The interface (composed of a C library and a serial, parallel or ethernet connection) facilitates fast and effective integration of force reflection into existing applications. Cybernet's custom designed motion platforms utilize the identical interface.
