It supports X Window System and Microsoft Windows user interface. AEDIS converts proprietary formatted files to standardized formats compliant with the published standards within the CALS (Computer-aided Acquisition and Logistics Support) initiative. AEDIS readily interfaces with existing systems and off-the-shelf software, utilizing standards such as NFS, SQL and RPC, and it offers computerized data file control and access security. AEDIS facilitates file conversion, importation, indexing, storage, retrieval and distribution, viewing, redlining, editing, printing and exporting. AEDIS incorporates a database server module (Docu-Dex), and a user interface client module (DXIM), which manage search methods, workflow management, third-party applications and security per the customer's specifications.
