The disk recorders offer 27 seconds to 3.5 minutes of storage capacity, conforming to the CCIR-601 video specification. Optional component analog inputs and outputs are available. The disk recorder is capable of nonlinear random access playback of video segments. The SGI VideoTools option includes a graphical user interface with Indigo audio control and a high speed SCSI-2 driver to allow direct transfer of video to and from the workstation using the SCSI port.
Applications include: 2-D & 3-D animation, rotoscoping, graphics compositing, scientific visualization, and image compression analysis.
