Electric Engine(tm) works on all Silicon Graphics (SGI) workstations over an Ethernet(R) network. Version 2.0 offers support for use of Electric Engine for SGI (sold separately). Electric Engine for SGI allows the rendering technology of ElectricImage 2.0 to take advantage of the speed of the RISC-based processor on the SGI platform. Users can render multiple jobs on a single SGI machine directly from their Macintosh! The speed of ElectricImage 2.0 rendering will be increased up to six times that of a Macintosh Quadra 840AV (R4000 CPU and above). The customer is required to supply the appropriate hardware, software and cables to connect the two machines via Ethernet. Available 2nd quarter 1994, Electric Engine for SGI requires ElectricImage 2.0 for Macintosh.
