Oxscan is a program to perform high-resolution digital scanning of film images from 35mm or large-format film. It is used primarily on the Oxberry 6000 and 7000 series of film transports, but is also supported on transports produced by other vendors. Oxscan runs on any Silicon Graphics system running IRIX 5.1 or later. It is used primarily by digital affects houses to grab film images for computer processing. Digital capture resolution is typically 3K X 2K, or greater. The program supports sub-region capture, EDL-driven film control, and on-line digital transformations.
