Fred Dart is the founder and Managing Director of both FTDI and CDCL. He has a BSc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. Fred has an extensive knowledge of PC systems and chip design.
His fourteen years experience in the computer industry has included the development of a wide range of PC class machines, expansion cards, motherboards, video cards and laser printer controllers. He has worked extensively abroad - spending three years in the US and working on several major products in Taiwan.
John McCrossan is the Chairman of both FTDI and CDCL. John has a BSC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. He has twenty years experience of working in the Electronics industry in Scotland including twelve years at the level of company director.
John, who is head of the Software Group at Scottish Enterprise, has provided strategic guidance for the company since the inception of CDCL in 1986.
Sam Tennent is the Company Secretary of both FTDI and CDCL. Sam has a BSc in Physics from the University of Strathclyde as well as a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde Business school.
Sam has fourteen years experience of working in the computer industry in Scotland and provides a strong combination of business and technical abilities.
Andy Dougan is a Staff Engineer and has 10 years experience of working in the personal computer field. Andy has an HND in Electrical and Electronics from the Glasgow College of Technology and an MSc in Digital Design Techniques from Heriot Watt University.
Andy joined FTDI from IBM in Greenock and his familiarity with FTDI's chip set products combined with his considerable PC system's experience greatly increases the company's technical capacity.
Ken Reid is a Senior Design Engineer and has 10 years experience of working in the ASIC design field. Ken has a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Glasgow. In addition to ASIC design work Ken focusses on customer support and design methodology.
Rae McCrorie combines Secretarial and Bookkeeping duties with considerable acumen in the collation of technical and market information. Her experience includes BS5750 auditing and she has made a considerable contribution to improving the organisation and efficiency of the company's activities.
