This is the corner of Piazza where you can have conversations about specific subjects.

Discussions are grouped into general areas called "Threads." Within threads are "topics," each dedicated to a single subject. You add your comments (called a "post") to the bottom of the topic's sequence so that the sequence becomes a chronological history of the conversation. If you are reading the topic for the first time, you start reading at the top of the page. If you are revisiting a topic, the only mechanism (at present) for picking up the conversation at the place you left it, is to click on the "Since" link on the Thread page, and enter the number of hours since you last read the topic in appropiate box.

Starting a new topic is easy. Click on the Start Topic button on the home page of any particular thread (for example, the Piazza People thread in the Open Forum area). Once you start a topic or add a post it cannot be deleted. So that you don't inadvertently enter an item, you'll be asked to review (and confirm) your post or topic before it is permamently added to Threads.

You can use our Thread View form to narrow down the volume of information by searching on user name, recency, and area, and in any combination. You can also make your real name and username hypertext links to your URL and mail address through the Subscriber Services page.
