Binding process: Perfect Bound
Page Format: Pages in three columns, 140 lines deep, with 420 lines to the page.
Required material: Hard dot combined final film, one piece per color, right reading, emulsion side down negatives. Film must be a minimum of .004" thick. All film must have corner marks and a minimum of 1/8" bleed.
Undercolor removal: Maximum total ink density should not exceed 300%, and no more than one solid should be used.
Proofs: Film must be accompanied by 3M Matchprint II proofs or chromalins. Press proofs that meet our requirements are also acceptable. Color keys are not accepted.
Screen rulings: Four color: 133 line minimum, 150 line maximum.
Black and white: 110 line minimum, 120 maximum.
2-color (billed at 4-color rate): Artwork is to be supplied as 2-part reflective art with black and one solid Pantone color specified. The Pantone color will be separated into process tints using the values provided by the Pantone Process Color Imaging Guide 1000 at no additional charge. No proofs will be furnished. Alternately, 4-color film may be provided using the above specifications.
Special match colors can sometimes be accommodated for an extra charge. Please call for estimates and availability.
Black and white: Artwork is to be supplied as reflective art for one shot in camera, or as negative film using above specifications. Additional shots, strippings, reverses or duotones chargeable. No proofs will be furnished. Extra charges will be estimated in advance upon request.
For bleed advertisements, keep illustration and type 1/2 inch inside bleed dimensions. Bleed dimensions given allow for cropping of inside margin, depending on whether advertisement is placed on a left- or right-hand page. Ad should be centered in full bleed dimensions.
Spreads: 3/16" per page gutter allowance for crossover elements.
Please protect materials against bending and tearing.
2. First time advertisers are required to pay when submitting their materials. Advertisers will be billed upon publication ship date, assuming credit approval. Payment is due net 30 days.
3. All advertising artwork must be camera ready, unless prior arrangements have been made. Any artwork not meeting the publisher's minimum standards as stipulated under the headings "mechanical requirements" and "printing specifications" (on the reverse of this card) will be re-typeset at the advertiser's expense.
4. A 15% discount will be paid to recognized advertising agencies upon payment of invoice. However the commission will not be paid to either agency or client if an insertion order has not been received by the time of invoicing. No commissions will be paid on invoices not paid within 90 days.
5. Cancellation deadline is 3 weeks prior to the advertising booking deadline specified on the reverse of this card. Cancellations must be in writing to publisher.
2. Advertisements run in Wired are subject to all the terms and conditions set forth in this document. It is the responsibility of every client and agency intending to advertise in Wired to acquire and read these terms and conditions and abide by all the regulations listed herein. For that purpose, copies of this document are made available by the publisher and may be obtained free of charge from Wired.
3. Any attempt to simulate the form of Wired is not permitted, and the publisher reserves the right to place the word "Advertisement" with copy that, in the publisher's opinion, resembles editorial matter.
4. All advertising copy is subject to the publisher's approval. All advertisements are accepted and published upon the representation that advertisers and agencies are authorized to publish the entire contents and subject matter thereof. In consideration of the publisher's acceptance of such advertisements for publication, both advertisers and their agencies will indemnify and hold the publisher harmless from and against loss or expense arising from publication of such advertisements including, but not limited to, those resulting from claim or suits for libel, violation of rights or privacy, plagiarism, and copyright infringement.
5. The publisher is not liable for delays in delivery and/or nondelivery in the event of Act of God, action by any governmental entity, fire, flood, insurrection, riot, explosion, embargo, strike (whether legal or illegal), labor or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slowdown, or any condition beyond the control of the publisher affecting production or delivery in any manner.
6. The publisher's liability for any error will not exceed the cost of the space occupied by the error.
7. In the event of nonpayment, the publisher reserves the right to hold the advertiser and/or the advertising agency liable for such monies as are due and payable to the publisher.
8. No conditions, printed or otherwise, appearing on insertion orders, contracts, insertion instructions, or any other form of correspondence that conflict with these policies, will be binding on the publisher.
9. Requests for specific position are given consideration but no guarantee is made unless the position premium has been provided for in the contract.
10. Orders are accepted, subject to change in rates upon notice from the publisher. However, orders may be canceled at the time the change in rates becomes effective without incurring a short rate adjustment, provided the rate has been earned up to the date of cancellation.
11. The publisher assumes no liability if, for any reason, it becomes necessary to omit an advertisement.
