The latest machine to join the Acorn stable is something of a beast. This modular system can be added to in the form of slices. Each slice contains the hardware and cards of your choice.

The Risc PC is capable of using 256 Megabytes of RAM and a potential 16 million colour display.

The ARM 610 processor (the CPU at the heart of the Risc PC) runs at 30Mhz. There are optional 210 Megabyte or 420 Megabyte Hard Disk Drive units which can be fited along with the 1.6 Megabyte Floppy Disk Drive.

The Risc PC also has centronics and fast parallel interfaces as well as an RS232 serial interface. The IDE controller is standard as is the network slot with optional Econet and Ethernet cards.

The most talked about feature of the Risc PC however, is the ability to install a PC CPU as the second processor. This turns your Risc PC into a 486 PC compatible machine. Theoretically, any CPU type can be inserted into the second processor slot in the Risc PC if given the correct controller logic.
