This photograph shows the "Touch Library," a popular exhibit at the Telecommunications Advancement Organization of Japan's Nara Research Center. The exhibit employs NEC's Neo-FishLibrary, a multimedia information retrieval system that displays images of a variety of species of fish that appear to be swimming around on a screen. When visitors touch the moving images with a finger, the system--through the interactive use of video and audio--provides such information as the names, characteristics, and natural habitats of fish.
