Libraries Automation Service

The Libraries Automation Service was set up in 1988 by the Oxford University Libraries Board to provide support to any Oxford library which is a member of OLIS, the online library catalogue. In recent years, the LAS has also been involved in retrospective conversion projects and is now investigating the use of image processing for storage and dissemination over networks of images of fragile and valuable documents such as manuscripts.
