Informix has developed two interface kits to assist developers in connecting Informix databases to the World Wide Web. In addition, there is a CGI Kit FAQ document that can assist you in downloading and using this freeware.
The INFORMIX-ESQL/C CGI Interface Kit is a ready-to-compile library for simple Web access from applications developed in ESQL/C. The library reads and decodes HTML forms, and displays both text and binary large objects (BLOBs) to Web browsers via the common gateway interface (CGI). Included with the kit are three examples which illustrate ways to use ESQL/C to generate SQL code, access the database, and print the results back to CGI.

Informix databases and the Web concepts
The INFORMIX-4GL CGI Interface Kit is a ready-to-compile library to connect databases to the Web from INFORMIX-4GL applications. A small set of functions simplifies the tasks of reading the Common Gateway Interface (CGI) environment, reading the values from HTML forms, managing Web files, and displaying both text and binary large objects (BLOBs) to Web Browsers. The three examples included with the kit show the 4GL developer how to construct SQL from the HTML form values and how to print back to the Web browser.
