• the online version of Corner Post has been substantially redesigned
• the Prince Edward Island Convention Bureau's Convention Planner's Guide has been revised and updated
• the January issue of The Quarter in Review, a summary of Provincial Government activities in the last four month, is now online

February 8, 1996

• In April of 1995 we launched a very successful "Send a postcard from the Island" feature to our site, which we followed with "Send a Christmas Card from the Island" (which was used to send almost 50,000 cards over the 1995 holiday season). We have revised an consolidated these features, and added more images, more flexibility and a simplier user interface, to create our new Greeting Card Centre.

February 6, 1996

• The electronic 1996 Visitors Guide is now online. In its third year, this is the oldest online provincial vacation planner in Canada and appears revised and expanded for 1996.

January 10, 1996

• the provincial Soil and Feed Lab, part of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, is now online. Clients of the lab can pick up the results of their tests online.

January 4, 1996

• the IslandCam has moved to Brookvale Provincial Ski Park... check the ski conditions before you head out to the slopes!

• Economic Impact: Tourism '95, an analysis of the 1995 tourism results for Prince Edward Island, as been released and is online

• We've been named one of PC Computing magazine's Best 1001 Internet Sites in a feature in their December, 1995 issue

• We've redesigned our home page! The new version is clearer and more concise and allows us to accommodate our ever-increasing menu of information resources. We'll be quickly updating the "look and feel" of all our pages to this new design. The new design includes a new toolbar, which you'll find at the bottom of every page and which gives quick access to our home page, to our new keyword search feature, to this What's New page and to our new Feedback Form.

• The Canadian Farm Safety Information Centre, containing useful information for farmers on farm safety topics, is now available; it was announced by Premier Catherine Callbeck at the Canadian Farm Safety Conference in Charlottetown.

• URLs for the Internet Information Centre may now be entered without the info/ after the www.gov.pe.ca. The URL for the main home page is now thus http://www.gov.pe.ca/ updated from the old http://www.gov.pe.ca/ (which still works, to allow existing bookmarks to function)
