Stop Execution of Mumia Abu-Jamal

Mumia Abu-Jamal is a black political activist who is on death row in Pensylvania, USA. A re-opening of his trial is currently campaigned for, but by no means certain. There are several sites with more information, Solidaritygroup Political Prisoners have a very broad selection of information on the Mumia Abu-Jamal case (also available in a text-only version, better if you don't have netscape or are on a slow link).

Please take a few minutes to read the information. If you agree something should be attempted to stop Mumia's execution, why not start by putting small references to information in your email signature or your WWW home page. More information about the Mumia signature campaign can be found at a special page on it, again maintained by SPG.

Remember: either we act now or it is too late!

About Spunk Press

Welcome to the Spunk Press home page. Spunk Press collects and distributes literature in electronic format, with an emphasis on anarchism and related issues. For a more complete description of what Spunk is about you can view the Spunk Press Manifesto. In case you are only wondering where the name comes from, look here.

We also have flyers in different languages, which you can take and distribute, copy in magazines, etc. and a Call for Contributions (in English) that fits nicely on an A4 (or folio for you americans), also for distribution.

Finally, we have a newsletter called the Spunknik, that will be available on-line as well from now on.

Obtaining documents

The easiest way, if you are on the web, is through one of the catalogs. These provide hot-links to the files (that are, incidentally, stored elsewhere).

There is also a description of other ways to access the archives. Or, you can try it from here with ftp.

Other interesting groups

We have an anarchist resources document which lists addresses (both electronic and 'real') that may be interesting to anarchists. (This document is a HTML version of Spunk150.txt). Whereever possible the addresses are hotlinks.

Contributing

Spunk Press can only flourish if people contribute material. If you have things that you think might fit in the archive, have a look at the guidelines for contributing material.

More information on what we do (and what we should do but don't have the time for:-) can be found at the Spunk Press Maryland homepage.

the Anarchist Cookbook and the Unabomber

We get many questions about the Anarchist Cookbook, so we have compiled some information on it. We do not carry the book itself, though.

Ah yes, and then there is the Unabomber, who also appears to be linked to anarchism by the media (and occasionally by himself). Here is a link to his manifesto as published by US newspapers in September 1995.

Contacting Spunk Press

The editorial collective can be reached as <spunk@lysator.liu.se>. Please use this address only for communications on Spunk Press and not for general mailings: most of us are on informational mailing lists as well and this address is purely meant for Spunk Press related issues.

The Spunk Press WWW pages are by design not dependent on Netscape, and should even render reasonably on text-only browsers. Contact me in case of problems.
