Oncology Education

The Harvard Collaborative Oncology Group offers a number of educational opportunities, assisting oncologists to stay abreast of the latest developments in cancer research.

Symposia

HCOG provides timely information about new cancer therapies through symposia held at least twice a year. Attended by hundreds of area oncologists and other health care providers, these symposia feature internationally renowned cancer researchers, who often focus on the clinical application of exciting new discoveries in the basic sciences. Previous presentations have featured topics such as Hodgkin's disease, novel strategies in cancer treatment, therapy-related second malignancies, brain tumors, and viruses in cancer. The symposia and courses available during the 1996, 1997 and the first quarter of 1998.

March 4-6, 1996 - Clinical Applications of the Revised European American Lymphoma Classification -- co-sponsored by Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School and the Harvard Collaborative Oncology Group

March 15 - 16, 1996 - Advances in the Management of Head and Neck Cancer -- co-sponsored by the Department of Otology and Laryngology, Harvard Medical School and the Longwood Center for Head and Neck Cancer

April 25 - 26, 1996 - Molecular and Cellular Radiation Oncology -- sponsored by the Joint Center for Radiation Therapy, Harvard Medical School

Fall 1996 - Symposium on Prostate Cancer

Spring 1997 - Symposium on Novel Therapies for Cancer
