Nicolas Cage, one of today's most consummate actors, executes a tour-de-force performance as a resigned alcoholic who has set himself on an irrevocable course in LEAVING LAS VEGAS.

Cage has long been recognized for his ability to challenge the conventions of the acting profession with a string of courageous performances in extremely diverse roles. He first gained the attention of critics and audiences for his portrayal of a tormented Vietnam vet in Alan Parker's Birdy, which won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. He then garnered a Golden Globe nomination for his role as Cher's lover in the hit romantic comedy Moonstruck.

He again earned praise for his work opposite Laura Dern in David's Lynch's Wild at Heart, which won the Palme d'Or at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival. Cage received another Golden Globe nomination for his role in 1992's romantic comedy Honeymoon in Vegas. In 1993, he starred in Amos and Andy as well as Deadfall which was directed by his brother Christopher Coppola.

Most recently, he has starred in John Dahl's acclaimed film noir thriller Red Rock West and the comedies It Could Happen To You opposite Bridget Fonda, and Guarding Tess, also starring Shirley MacLaine. Presently, Cage is shooting the film noir thriller Rock.
