ITRE 's Pupil Transportation program has a combined seventeen years of experience in the area of computer based vehicle routing and scheduling. This relatively new computer technology, when installed and utilized properly, is capeable of improving the efficiency of transportation operations and providing a vast amount of information for management. The Pupil Transportation staff has worked closely with both local and state agencies to install and support numerous routing/scheduling installations ranging from sites with fewer than 2,000 riders to over 50,000 riders. Our involvement ranges from hands-on software training, establishing project timelines, to presenting new transportation strategies to board members that have prepared us with insight on managerial, operational and financial issues faced by today's transportation professionals.

The installation of a sophisticated computer-based routing and scheduling software does not guaranted savings and improved efficiency.
