Attention all shareware authors! Ziff-Davis Interactive (ZDI), PC Magazine, Computer Life and Computer Gaming World are sponsoring the third annual Ziff-Davis Shareware Awards, honoring the best PC-based shareware released or significantly upgraded in the past year. The awards will be presented at a banquet on June 27 during this year's Shareware Industry Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. Judges for the awards will include editors from the sponsoring magazines and Ziff-Davis Interactive.

Ziff-Davis Shareware Award winning programs will be featured in special editorial coverage by the sponsoring magazines. The winning programs will also be posted in highly visible sections of the software libraries on ZD Net.

This year, you are not required to submit your programs for consideration. All programs in the ZD Net library which fit the eligibility requirements will automatically be considered for an award. Programs must have been released or significantly upgraded between April 1, 1995 and March 31, 1996. If your program is not in our library, or if you have a new release, you may submit it by March 31, 1996 to enter it into the competition.

Authors who want to submit their software can enter by posting their programs on the Ziff-Davis Interactive Author Upload Center or by mailing the submissions on disk. Submissions will be accepted beginning on February 1, 1996. The submission deadline is March 31, 1996. Finalists will be annnounced on April 15, 1996.

Instructions For Submitting Your Programs

A special section of Ziff-Davis Interactive's Author Upload Center has been established to allow authors to submit their programs electronically. To send your programs, just dial:

Submission Criteria

• All entries must be shareware programs first released or significantly upgraded between April 1, 1995 and March 31, 1996.
• All programs must be compressed using PKZip v2.04g.
• All entries must be in a single package - please do not upload multi-part ZIPs (such as FILEA.ZIP, FILEB.ZIP, FILEC.ZIP, etc.).
• Please submit the unregistered evaluation version of your program.
