Welcome to the Technical Japanese Program

The Technical Japanese Program (TJP) is in the Department of Technical Communication in the College of Engineering at the University of Washington. The goal of TJP is to provide education in Japanese language, culture, and technical management to American scientists and engineers. The program is directed by Dr. Michio Tsutsui, formerly the co-developer and director of MIT's Summer Program in Technical Japanese.

The Technical Japanese office currently administers two educational programs:

These programs provide a unique educational experience for graduate students or professional engineers and scientists who need to work with Japanese counterparts or read Japanese technical literature.
