• State-of-the-art Web browser. You can use PowerBrowser to browse all of your favorite sites on the Web. In addition to supporting Version 2.0 of HTML (HyperText Markup Language), PowerBrowser supports all the major proposed extensions to HTML, including frames, HTML 3.0 tables, and backgrounds.
• Integrated Personal Server. PowerBrowser includes a Web server that's easy enough for Web novices to use. Called "Personal Server," it lets you serve documents for others over the Web. Personal Server also includes an Authoring Wizard to let you quickly create your first Web pages.
• Oracle BASIC scripting environment. You can add intelligence to any Web page by embedding scripts written in the Oracle BASIC programming language. With Oracle BASIC, PowerBrowser can automate routine tasks such as form-based field validation and math calculations, using a language already understood by millions of people. The BASIC interpreter is the same one used in Oracle's award-winning application development tool, Power Objects.
• Network Loadable Objects (NLO). Network Loadable Objects let PowerBrowser execute applications and display documents created by third-party developers. For example, with NLO's PowerBrowser can insert an inline video player or sound player directly within any Web page. Furthermore, Network Loadable Objects are compatible with Netscape 2.0 plug-ins.
• Support for Java applets. PowerBrowser can display "applets" written in the Java programming language. These "applets" can make standard Web pages more come alive, by adding live animation and greater user interactivity with the operating system.
• Integrated e-mail and news clients. PowerBrowser includes an integrated mail client, to let you send, receive and store all your e-mail messages. And the news client lets you participate in any of the thousands of newsgroups across the Internet.

  Note: Java, email and news will be available in the next Developers' Release of PowerBrowser. Stay tuned!

Platform Availability

PowerBrowser currently runs on Windows 3.1x, Windows 95 and Windows NT. The current version is called Developers' Release 1, and the production version will be available early spring 1996.

Versions for Apple Macintosh and UNIX will follow the Windows versions.
