the Select Program. Below is more detailed information on both
the features of each license type as well as the number of
units
your organization would need to purchase to take advantage of
these license options.
Select Overview
- No reporting is required under any of the options - all
licenses can be ordered and paid for as they are needed
through the Large Account Reseller of your choice.
- Microsoft Select is available through a worldwide network of Microsoft’s
reseller partners. The Enterprise and Variable Licenses are available exclusively
from a specially qualified group of Large Account Resellers. The Open License is
available from virtually any Reseller or Solution Provider.
Microsoft Enterprise License
- For organizations with 250 or more PC’s.
- The Enterprise License offers Select's best estimated prices while also
encouraging the adoption of a single product or family of products
across an entire enterprise.
- Volume Price Level Minimums: Level A: 1,000 units; Level B: 3,000 units;
Level C: 7,000 units
Microsoft Variable License
- For organizations with 250 or more PC’s.
- If a customer uses a variety of Microsoft products, the
Variable License is a flexible way to acquire software
under Select. The Variable License allows customers to
mix-and-match products within specific pools of products
to reach higher volume levels.
- Volume Price Level Minimums:Level A: 2,000 units; Level B:
8,000 units; Level C: 20,000 units
Microsoft Open License
- For organizations with 25 or more PC’s.
- The Microsoft Open License is the easiest way to order and
Open License reorder Microsoft software products.
- The pricing level you achieve in your initial purchase
will apply to all additional purchases you make over the
following 2-year period.
- No forecasting or purchase agreement is required.
Volume Price Level Minimums: Level A: 50 units; Level B:
500 units; Level C: 1,000 units
