MS Windows 95 Compatibility List

This Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) contains a list of PC systems and peripherals that are compatible with the Microsoft Windows 95 operating system.

Devices marked Logo in the Test Notes column of the HCL meet the requirements for the "Designed for Windows 95" Logo, which include Plug and Play and support for 32-bit Windows 95 drivers. Devices marked Compatible in the Test Notes column are tested with and work with Windows 95, but do not meet the Logo requirements. Device drivers are located either in the Windows 95 Floppy, CD, or On-line services, as shown in the Driver Location column. Note that the most current version of the HCL always resides at on-line services.

• Hardware Compatibility List NOTE: items that do not appear in this list are likely to work just fine, they just have not been through our testing lab yet. Since testing is ongoing, this list will be revised on a regular basis.

• Software Compatibility List (Download: 188KB, Self Extracting Windows Help File, Published: August 31, 1995) This helpfile contains a list of the more than 2500 existing applications we have tested. Except where noted, according to our tests these applications will run as well or better under Windows 95. Of course you'll be the final judge. NOTE: applications not appearing on this list are likely to work fine, they just weren't part of our internal testing effort.
