IIS Demand Exceeds Most Optimistic Projections
RESPONSE TO IIS OVERWHELMING
The response to the Microsoft® Internet Information Server (IIS)
has far exceeded even Microsoft's
most optimistic expectations. More than 14,000 customers registered
to download IIS in the first five days of availability (that's one new request every thirty seconds!). Those customers are
joined by the 16,000 who were already signed up as part of our Beta
program. Obviously there is high demand for the next generation
of Web server technology found in IIS.
SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT
However, in response to the overwhelming success of IIS, Netscape
Communications Corporation published and distributed a document
including incorrect information. Microsoft seeks to set the record straight.
