The year 1996 is most exciting for Waite Air Photos Inc. with the introduction of air photos on CD-ROM . These air photo files, produced in ISO-9660 format, can be opened with any software capable of viewing JPEG files on both Macintosh or PC Compatible computers for output on any color printer. The color corrected and retouched JPEG images open to between 10 and 14 megabytes resulting in exceptionally high quality 7" x 8.5" prints on 8.5" x 11" paper.

Waite Air Photos Inc. also publishes 8.5" x 11" catalogues to be marketing in conjunction with the CD-ROMs. The 800 to 1000 images in each catalogue appear in chronological order as 2" x 2" thumbnails, 12 to the page, for quick and easy reference. Beneath each image is the date it was taken and a brief description.

The catalogues and CD-ROMs can be taken to the nearest printing and design houses for one day turnaround time. Most of these production houses have the software to add text and other graphics onto the images.

Apart from distributing catalogues and CD-ROMs, Waite Air Photos Inc. also sells high resolution files and enlarged photographs. With the better quality films coupled with new computer technology, it is now possible to enlarge air photos to 6' x 7' and larger with virtually no grain. It is also possible to output a 200 megabyte file, carry out computer enhancement and graphics, to output a 4" x 5" negative for enlargement to 8' x 10' and ever larger.
