Notice:

And you may be asking yourself, "Do they ever update this page?"
YES, but sometimes we have to do it after-the-fact after equipment is fixed.

Of course the only time you visit this page is if something seems to be messed up. Right?

Tuesday, 3/11:(8:50pm-10:30pm) Sprint outages, combined with other network trouble, caused some trouble with logins during this time frame. Sorry for the downtime, everything appears to be working fine as of 8:25am Wednesday morning.

Tuesday, 2/27:(3:30am-8am) The system was down due to network problems.

Thursday, 2/22:(11:00am) User WWW pages are temporarily down due to a server reboot.

Friday, 2/9:(2am-7:15am) The system was down for upgrades and maintenance. All servers upgraded to 100base-T Ethernet; the UltraSPARC system is here but will not be fully setup and online for about a week or so. If you encounter any problems from the upgrades and move, please let us know.

Monday, 1/29:(morning) User directories were temporarily unaccessible for about an hour as we do system hardware additions.

Wednesday, 1/10: (11:15pm) Sprint is up.

Wednesday, 1/10: (8:54pm) Sprint is down.

Wednesday, 1/10: (12:15am) Sprint is back up.

Tuesday, 1/9: Lawton & Cyberhall have been moved to the main router.

Tuesday, 1/9: (late evening) Sprint went down again.

Tuesday, 1/9: (4:30pm) Sprint is back up.

Tuesday, 1/9: (3:10pm) Sprint is having router problems in Chicago due to the inclement weather. No estimate yet on an uptime.

Sunday, 12/31: (11:35pm) The Lawton and Cyberhall router has continued to crash and will have to be replaced. We anticipate additional problems before it is replaced in the next day or so. We apologize for the inconvenience and will have the problem resolved as soon as possible.

Sunday, 12/31: (2:53pm) The router for Lawton went down for approximately 30 minutes.

Tuesday, 12/26: (11:00am) The system should be completely back up now, as the NIS problems appear to have been solved. WWW and POP3 email should also be working properly - let us know of any strange happenings.

Tuesday, 12/26: (9:15am) The system was down for a short while (between 7:30am and 9:15am) due to the NIS database becoming desynched. This prevented logins and required that the main servers be rebooted.

Friday, 12/8: We will be switching over to our new phone system starting at noon. There MAY be problems contacting Tech Support after that time, until our new phone system is completely installed.

Monday, 12/4: (8:20 am) Sprint is back up.

Monday, 12/4: (early AM) It appears that Sprint is down. ioNET itself is not down, but it appears that another router at Sprint has gone down again. The new T1 for Oklahoma City has been ordered, hopefully this will resolve some of the recurring problems.

Friday, 12/1: We added 20 new 28.8 modems yesterday, replacing the 14.4s that were on the end of the rollover.
Click here to see Christoper Yoder installing the modems.

Friday, 12/1:(9:30am) Sprint is back up.

Friday, 12/1:(8:25am) Sprint has promised a one-hour ETA for fixing their router in Dallas/Fort Worth.

Thursday, 11/30:(8:45pm) Sprint's router in Dallas has been going up and down - connections might be flaky or a little slow in resolving paths to hosts. Sprint is working on it - bear with us.

Thursday, 11/30:(4:45pm) Sprint is back up.

Thursday, 11/30:(3:30pm) There appears to be a problem with our Internet link to Sprint in OKC. It is being worked on. No estimate on downtime.

Thursday, 11/30:(2:30pm) We are re-cabling the tulsats3 and tulsats4 terminal servers in Tulsa, so modems toward the end of the rollover might get answered but not result in a login prompt. Estimated downtime is 30 minutes. This will probably not affect anyone, as tulsats2 is not full at this time of day.

Thursday, 11/30:(10am) News server is back up. Some articles may be missing due to the failed hard drive, but everything else should be working fine. Let us know if you encounter any strange problems with the news server or the service in general.

Wednesday, 11/29:(9:30pm) Due to the power failure, we are experiencing difficulties with the news server (a crashed hard drive). Mail to support@ionet.net will most probably bounce (it is forwarded to an internal newsgroup), so call us at (405) 721-1580 with tech support problems between 8am-Midnight. 24 hour a day, 7 day a week tech support is coming soon.

Wednesday, 11/29:(8:45pm)The system was down for about 25 minutes , due to a power failure (a power cord shorted out). After fixing the damaged cable and rebooting, the system is back up and there appears to be no problem. We've made preventive measures and this shouldn't happen again.

Wednesday, 11/20:The problem with irc.ionet.net refusing connections has been fixed. Until we get our IRC server up, irc.ionet.net resolves to irc.texas.net, and TexasNet moved their IRC server to a different IP address over the weekend. Sorry abou the delay in getting it fixed.

Monday, 11/27:The system was down from around 2am to 8:30am, due to a failed power supply in the main DNS machine. This caused logins to fail or time out, as the terminal servers could not resolve the address for ion3.ionet.net to verify passwords.

Saturday, 11/25:There was a system outage for approximately two and a half hours, from around 5:30pm to 8pm, due to a frozen server.

Thursday, 11/9:There were multiple power outages (which resulted in a UPS failure and a short system downtime) on Thursday afternoon. User web pages were down until Friday morning but should be up and working now. New UPS for the Sun servers will be installed Friday afternoon.

Wednesday, 11/8:(3:00pm) The Sprint link is back up.

Oklahoma City:New primary DNS server for OKC and Lawton 204.96.200.3.
