New Zealand Government Buildings
There are a number of official Government buildings in New Zealand.
Here are pictures of three buildings in the parliamentary complex in
Wellington.
- Parliament Buildings
-
This the old parliament building, currently undergoing renovation and
strengthening to meet earthquake requirements. Tours of Parliament Buildings are
available.
- Beehive
-
This is the Beehive, more properly called the Executive Wing of
parliament. Most ministers have their offices in the beehive; Cabinet
meets here.
- Bowen House
-
This is Bowen house where Government backbenchers (ie MPs who are not
Ministers) and opposition MPs have their offices. The debating chamber
is also here until work on the old Parliament buildings is complete.
