SILAS Project

Information about the SILAS project will be posted here.

SILAS is an acronym for "Study of the Issues in Linking ATM networks via Satellite". This is a project funded by the Defence Research Agency (DRA) Open Distributed Systems (ODS) group at DRA Malvern. The first goal of the project is to investigate the issues concerning the interconnection of broadband islands using satellite links. The principle worker on the project is Gorry Fairhurst at the the University of Aberdeen.
