About the creation of this picture

Here's the info about our old logo:

First, I downloaded a font from the Windows ftp site and created a Microsoft Word file with "CSUA" in it. Then I printed it as postscript to a file, and saved it to floppy. At the university, I loaded the file from disk on an HP workstation, loaded it up with Ghostview, and then grabbed the CSUA section with xv. I then took the resulting gif file, loaded it with XPaint, and filled it in with patterns done by Marc that were generated by Adobe Photoshop, using texture designer on a Macintosh Quadra owned by Jon.
