The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) supports fundamental research in all areas of atmospheric science carried out by the university based research community. UGAMP, funded by NERC, is helping to strengthen the role of the UK universities in the vital area of numerical modelling of the large scale atmosphere.
UGAMP, using a hierarchy of numerical models as research tools for controlled experimentation, draws on the interdisciplinary expertise of research departments of universities and other institutions throughout the UK to advance basic understanding of the climate system.
