The Foster College of Business Administration provides students with an educational foundation for administrative and managerial leadership in both private and public organizations and for responsible participation in public affairs. Graduates typically become business professionals.
The college is the only endowed college at Bradley, and it has first-rate faculty, high-quality student body, and state-of-the-art facilities. The College undergraduate, graduate, and accounting programs are fully accredited by the American Assembly Of Collegiate Schools of Business.
The College is one of fewer than 10% of colleges or schools of business to have all three accreditations. The students in business are among the best in the university, and the faculty have a reputation for excellent teaching and advising. Approximately 95% of our graduates are placed in jobs, graduate schools, or law schools shortly after graduation.
Students can choose from seven different majors within the College. Accounting prepares students for careers in either public or private accounting. Students who major in Business Computer Systems combine study in the exciting field of information systems with the excellent preparation for careers that a business major receives. Economics majors use their analytical skills to pursue careers in banking, insurance, government, law, and many other fields, or they go on to graduate study in economics or law. Majors in Finance learn about the exciting worlds of corporate finance, investing, and financial institutions, and these student's excellent analytical skills make them in demand with employers. International Business combines study in international business, international studies, and foreign languages. Many possibilities for study abroad are available. Management and Administration major can pursue concentrations in Human Resource Management, Legal Studies in Business, Organization Administration, or Entrepreneurship in one of the most popular and diverse majors in the College.Marketing majors pursue careers in marketing management, marketing research, advertising, retailing, or industrial marketing. Risk Management and Insurance will soon be the College's eighth major which focuses on the assessment and control of an organization's risk.
The College prides itself on its excellence in teaching and scholarship. The faculty come from prestigious graduate schools and have written scores of research articles and several textbooks. But their primary love and expertise is teaching. Because of this, six of the faculty in the College have won the university's outstanding teaching award, and a number of the young faculty have won awards for outstanding teaching or research among new faculty. The FCBA faculty are supported by an outstanding group of administrative personnel. Together, faculty and administration in The Foster College of Business Adminstration are able to provide graduate and undergraduate students, as well as professionals in the community, an excellent resource for career development.
We do not use graduate students to teach classes. All classes are taught by faculty. And, they are always available to help you with problems or career guidance.
Every business student has an individual faculty advisor assigned to help with class advising or career advising.
Business students at Bradley have many student organizations to choose from. The College sponsors student chapters of the Society for the Advancement of Management, Accounting Students Association, Financial Managers Association, Data Processing Management Association, Students in Free Enterprise, Association of Collegiate Entrepreneurs, American Marketing Association, and the International Business Organization. We also have the honor societies Beta Gamma Sigma, Beta Alpha Psi, and Phi Chi Theta. The College also has a Student Advisory Committee that works with the administration of the College.
Every year, around 95% of Bradley business graduates are placed in career related jobs within three months of graduation. Our students work for companies such as Andersen Consulting, McDonnell Douglas, Ford, Motorola, Caterpillar Inc, State Farm Insurance, and many, many more companies.
The Foster College of Business Administration has three fully equipped computer classroom/labs. Business students have access to state-of-the-art computer equipment and software. Most of our students have computers in their dorm rooms. Technology is a big part of student life at Bradley.
Bradley business students have many chances for international study. Our students take the Bradley European Summer Semester, or else they study abroad for a semester in any one of a number of different countries. Plus, the Foster College of Business now has international relationships in Russia, and many Russian students have come to Bradley.
In addition to high quality undergraduate programs, Bradley has an excellent MBA program. A business student can complete an MBA degree in one calendar year following graduation.
