The noise you need at Stanford University

Last edit: 12 October 1995

Music

Monday, 9am to noon
Hot Coffee and a Full Tank of Gas. Acoustic, neo-folk, country, pop and indie for your driving pleasure. Because life is too cheap to drink short wine.

Tuesday, midnight
Checkpoint Charlie with Secret Agent. An assault of hardcore, punk, grindcore, ambient, hip-hop, industrial and who knows what else.

Wednesday, 11am-2pm
I'm not Lisa with Mistress of Radio. A testimonial: Mistress has a wicked sense of humor and delivery of a seasoned comedienne (hmmm..). Her music format makes me nod my head and want to do nothing else but throw pencils at the ceiling tiles. I plan on screwing-off at work every Wednesday from 11 to 2 to listen.

Thursday, midnight
The Dopestyle Peyote Turquoise and Ambrosia Provisional, with DJ Dopestyle. Testimonial: This man is f---ing brilliant. Hip-hop, beats, mixed with distortion, great rap and poetry. Tune in and learn a lot. A lot.

Friday, 6am
The Sound of Broken Televisions with Stefan. Noisy and melodic music to empty your mind of stress and then attempt to enlighten it. Three hours of anger and Zen peacefulness. Here are Stefan's recent playlists.

Saturdays, 6am
Bayou Boogie Dance Part with Leonard. Southwest Louisiana zydeco, Cajun swamp-pop blues.

Public Affairs

Wednesday, 5.00pm
Doc Talk. In-depth discussion of medical issues hosted by members of Stanford's medical school.

Mondays, 6pm
The Stupid Teenager Show. Five Russian teenage Ninjas from the former Soviet empire describe the tumultuous times in their post-Communist republic, every other Monday at 6 P.M., and if you have the time to spend reading every little paragraph on this web site, you definitely have the time to listen to our show.
