The Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ) and the Victorian Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) hosted Australia's first national Conference on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in Melbourne on the 29th of February and 1st of March 1996.
The conference was a quality event with invited speakers who were acknowledged experts in their field. Its main purpose was to provide a balanced package of information on what LCA is, how it is and can be used, what its limitations are, what developments are occurring and how it fits into environmental management and sustainable development.
There is a lot of current interest in LCA in this country, but limited application and knowledge. A diverse audience of government, academia and private sector participants ensured that the conference was highly successful.
If you would like to receive more information on the conference or LCA in general, we advise you to buy the conference proceedings, which include all of the papers that were presented. They can be ordered from the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ) for A$120 - mailing costs are not included in this price.
Please send your details (name, organisation, address, telephone number) and a check for A$125 ($5 postage), addressed to CASANZ, referring to "LCA proceedings" to:
