Fly Trap

'fly trap'

  1993 USA patent 5,391,302

Go ahead and admit it, you hate pesky house flies. Flies are not welcome in most homes around the world but how do you get rid of them? A big strand of sticky fly-paper often works well but it’s very low on the visual appeal charts. You could use one of those electric bug zappers in your kitchen but the blue glow and searing popping sound can be annoying. Some people even resort to keeping carnivorous plants in the house, like the Venus Fly Trap. But what happens when the bug season dies down and your plant starts getting hungry? Now you’re forced to  go out and actually catch some flies to satisfy your plants voracious urges.

The world needed a better solution and in 1993 the Artificial Flower Fly Trap came to our rescue. The idea is simple really; artificial flowers are attached to hollow artificial stems. A fly attractant is placed in the blossom and the stems of the trap. Once the bug enters the stem it is trapped by thousands of micro filaments that point downward. The fly can walk down but not out and is captured in a convenient plastic bag concealed in the flower pot. Just like the Roach Motel, "they can check in but they can't check out".
