- New Window
- Opens another Document View window. The content of the new window
is your default Home Page. There is no limit on the number of windows
you can open.
Same as New Window on the Document View bottom control panel.
- Clone Window
- Opens a duplicate of the window being viewed. This is a useful
choice if you want to keep a window open for reference but also
want to select another hyperlink or open another file.
Same as Clone on the Document View bottom control panel.
- Open URL...
- Opens the Open Document window to enter the Uniform Resource Locator
(URL) for a file to be viewed. Enter the URL for the document,
including the server type (e.g., Gopher, HTTP).
Same as Open... on the Document View bottom control panel.
- Open Local...
- Opens the Open Local Document window to select a local file for
viewing. By default the Filter field starts with your current
path. If the file you want is already highlighted and displayed
in the Name of local document to open field, click
OK.
If you need to locate the file, use the standard File Selection
Box (the Directories and Files windows) to select
a particular file. When you have the file you want opened highlighted,
click Filter to display the path to that document in the
Name of local document to open field at the bottom of the
window. (The file path can also be entered directly in the Name
of local document to open field.) Click the OK button
when the appropriate file is entered or selected.
- Reload Current
- Reloads the current file from the server, thus displaying any file
changes made and saved since the last loading (images are cached,
not reloaded). This is particularly useful if you are refining
the contents of a document.
Same as Reload on the Document View bottom control panel.
- Reload Images
- Clears out cached image data for the current document and then
reloads the document (thereby reloading the images).
- Refresh Current
- Redisplays what is in memory (refreshes the screen when, for example,
colors are not displayed true).
- Find In Current...
- Opens the Find in Document window for searching the current file
for a string. Enter the character(s) or word(s) to be matched and
click the Search button or press the RETURN key on your
keyboard. The search starts at the top of the document. NCSA Mosaic
highlights the first match. Clicking Search again continues
the search.
Click Reset to clear the search field, Dismiss to
end the search and remove the dialog box, or Help for additional
information.
- View Source...
- Opens the Document Source window with the HTML-coded source file
for the current document.
Click Dismiss to cancel the window or Help for additional
information.
- Save As...
- Opens the Save Document window that lets you save the file currently
being viewed. If the file can be saved in the default directory,
enter the filename and click OK.
If you want to save the file in another directory, move to the
appropriate directory using the Directories and Files
scroll windows (the File Selection Box). Click Filter to
have the directory chosen displayed in the Name for saved document
field. Enter your name for the document in this field. Select
from four save option formats: plain text, formatted text, PostScript,
or HTML.
Click OK to save the file or Cancel to cancel the
action and close the window.
- Print...
- Opens the Print Document window for printing the current file to
the printer of your choice. Enter the print command if different
from the default. Select from four print options: plain text, formatted
text, PostScript, or HTML.
Click Print to print the document, Dismiss to cancel
the window, or Help for additional information.
- Mail To...
- Opens Mail Document window. Enter an electronic mail address for
mailing the file currently being viewed. Optionally, enter a subject.
Select a file format from: plain text, formatted text, PostScript,
or HTML.
Click Mail to send the file, Dismiss to cancel the
operation and close the window, or Help for additional information.
- Open DTM Outport...
- Opens the Broadcast Document window to enter the NCSA Collage port
information for broadcast to current Collage sessions. You should
be familiar with using NCSA Collage (collaborative work software)
before using this option.
- Broadcast Over DTM...
- Sends currently viewed document to an active NCSA Collage session.
- Close Window
- Closes the current Document View window. If you only have one window
open, the entire application shuts down with no confirming dialog
box.
Same as Close Window on the Document View bottom control
panel.
- Exit Program...
- Closes down all NCSA Mosaic windows and exits the program. Confirm
or cancel your choice in the dialog box.
