"I describe this album as a combination of pop, R&B, hip-hop and a Madonna record. It's very, very romantic," says Madonna of her new album, Bedtime Stories. It's also the most accomplished and inventive album of her career. Displaying a more R&B-flavored sound than previous releases, it's an album that finds her--as ever--at the cutting edge of contemporary pop music.

Bedtime Stories was produced by Madonna as well as four of the most successful producers working today: Babyface (Tevin Campbell), Dallas Austin (Boyz II Men, TLC), Dave Hall (Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige) and Nellie Hooper (Soul II Soul, Bjork). The album's title track was written by Bjork and Nellie Hooper; Madonna co-wrote everything else.

"Secret" is the album's first single and video. "This is a song about spirituality and self-empowerment," Madonna says. "It contains an Indian/Hindu philosophy which says that God lives within all of us and that happiness lies in our own hands."
