Diary - May 10

The hectic stress of the first few days is slowly changing to more laborious activity. Every day there are new things to build or existing things which have to be repaired. It's incredible how much equipment we have pulled onto the platform - the realisation dawned on me slowly since we have now unpacked most of it.

The atmosphere and the relationship between the crew is extremely good. Unfortunately, it takes me a while to understand some of the conversations because my English is not very good - but it is improving every day. Yesterday there was a very strong wind and it was impressive to be on the heli-deck in the storm. There is a marvellous 360 degrees view of the surroundings from up there.

Thanks to the excellent food that our excellent cook cooks for us - a warm meal twice a day - I am definitely going to put on weight during my stay!
