LANCatch can quickly be configured for a specific network environment and sent to a remote user. While the user re-creates their network problem, LANCatch saves the resulting network traffic in a trace file. The trace file can then be forwarded to a support engineer or network administrator for detailed analysis.
Provides extensive background filters for isolating packets
LANCatch supports extensive background filtering, making it easy to isolate specific data packets. Filters can be applied to IP or MAC addresses, network addresses, host names, protocols, and packet contents. LANCatch also provides Boolean operators to further define the traffic to be captured. Filter specifications can be set in a filter file, allowing support engineers to specify complex filters without end- user intervention.
Supports a broad range of Ethernet and Token Ring adapters
LANCatch runs over NDIS drivers or Packet Drivers, supporting a broad range of Ethernet and Token Ring network interface cards. LANCatch requires no special hardware, making it versatile enough for almost any network configuration.
Fully compatible with LANWatch Network Analyzer for DOS
LANCatch is also the perfect companion to FTP Software's LANWatch Network Analyzer for DOS, which provides real-time capture and graphical display, and offers exceptional performance at low cost.
LANCatch currently supports the LANWatch trace file format. Organizations that use other network analyzers can use LANCatch simply by converting the LANCatch trace file to the format required by their analyzer.
