Two coil springs, one anti-roll bar and two single-tube gas-filled shock absorbers each front and rear. Available as an optional extra: hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension and, in conjunction with this, the adaptive damping system (ADS). Hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension on the rear axle is standard equipment in the Mercedes S 600.
