C-class in the fast lane worldwide

The Mercedes-Benz C-class is enjoying worldwide success: less than two years after production began in the Sindelfingen and Bremen plants, the 500,000th saloon from this model range rolled off the production line in February 1995. This makes the C-class one of the most successful new models in its category in recent times. Over 200,000 drivers have opted for the C-class in Germany alone, where it has held the number one position in its vehicle category since August 1993. Mercedes has therefore been able to exceed its original target of producing more than 240,000 C-class saloons in 1994, by over 30 per cent.
