Amateur Radio Callsigns

VE6LNZ is an Amateur Radio Operator's callsign. (mine)

Every "Ham" in the world has a unique callsign just as every commercial radio or tv station has it's own unique call letters.

Ham's often use callsigns as if they were last names. So I could be called Kevin VE6LNZ just as easily as Kevin Lenz.

The first few letters of the callsign indicate the part of the world that the operator is licenced from. In this case VE6 means Alberta, Canada. Whatever follows is the unique part, in this case LNZ stands for Lenz.
